Archery Courses

Each year at the Bowmen of Lyme, we run a number of archery courses to help you get into the sport. You will find all the different types of course we offer listed below as well any courses that we have planned and their associated costs.

If we have no courses currently planned or they are fully booked, you can always add yourself onto the waiting list for that course so that you are automatically notified once a new course becomes available.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis and once payment has been received your place will be confirmed by email.

Beginners Course

Whether you have shot before or are completely new to the sport, one of the best ways to get yourself started in Archery is to go on one of our beginners courses.

Each summer we hold small informal Archery Courses (Target Shooting only) on a Sunday Morning.  They start at 10am and finish between 12pm and 12.30pm and run alongside our normal Sunday Morning Target Shoot.  That way you get a good idea of what a typical days shoot entails and get to meet some of our regulars!

You will be taught all the basics from safety to equipment, from technique to useful exercises you can do during the week to help improve your stamina.  The club will provide all the required equipment so all you have to do is turn up.

We limit the amount of available places on each course to ensure that each beginner gets the necessary attention from the instructor.  Unfortunately this also means that courses usually become fully booked within 1 month of being advertised on this website. 

All available beginners course are listed below, together with the start dates and costs.  Places are allocated on a first come first served basis and once payment has been received your place will be confirmed by email once we receive a completed application form and payment.

Privacy Policy

The Bowmen of Lyme will not distribute your email address to any other parties.  It will be used solely for the purpose of notifying you of new courses as and when they become available.  Once you have been added to the waiting list, you will be sent an email confirmation.  This email will contain a link, that when clicked will remove you from the waiting list.  After a period of one year, your email address will automatically be deleted from the database.
